Interesting, Rockets VanVleet thinks Jaylen Green has the "potential" of Timberwolves Edwards

Basketball

Jaylen Green was terrible in his first playoffs.

Recently, the Houston Rockets lost 1-3 away in the first round of the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors, and eventually lost away in Game 4. The Houston Rockets performed well in both away games in the series, but ultimately failed to play enough in the final moments.

Scoring guard Jaylen Green's struggle performance in this series has been widely discussed. Green scored 38 points in Game 2, but scored in single digits in the other three games.

Recently, Rockets point guard Fred VanVleet talked about Green's huge potential and pointed out why a bad playoff performance should not undercut his potential.

"I don't know if you can find another point guard with potential or talent," VanVleet said of Green, according to ESPN's Tim McMahon.

"(Anthony Edwards) Maybe in the Minnesota Timberwolves. I don't know, Booker is more talented than Jaylen, or is he more skilled, more experienced, more experienced, older? ...I don't know what Jaylen will look like after playing the playoffs at the age of 26, 27, and 28. And that's exactly where he has the strengths, his potential will be intoxicating. He has talent. There's no reason he doesn't get to that level. He has to go through this process; he has to go through failure."

In the series against the Warriors, Green's performance was indeed so bad that head coach Ime Udoka chose to put him on the bench at the end of the fourth game, and the Rockets could have used his theoretical offensive efficiency at the time. Jaylen Green's series ended in a difficult game

At the beginning of the playoffs, there were concerns that Green might face difficulties in his first series of his career, with the Warriors having several top outside defenders, including new player Jimmy Butler who was traded.

However, few people can expect Green's performance to drop to the point where he scored in double digits in just one of his four appearances. The Rockets are now facing the dilemma of having to win Wednesday night or they will be eliminated as the No. 2 seed after five games. Game 5 will start in Houston at 7:30 pm ET.
