Meiji Analysis Westbrook Joins the Heat: The team has been built and it is unlikely to continue signing

Today's American Records Ira Winderman analyzed the prospects of Russell Westbrook joining the Heat.

He wrote:

From all perspectives, unless the Heat can reach a deal that gives more players than recycles, the construction of the standard lineup seems to have been completed. Although Westbrook can bring energy and leadership, it is now up to the existing players to take on the responsibility of motivating the team. Regardless of how he performed in the Nuggets last season, a wing without shooting ability has limited space for survival in the NBA. It is not appropriate to consider it from the perspective of salary cap/luxury tax. What's more, Westbrook may want to join the championship team rather than a team struggling for playoff playoff spots. At present, any new player defender is likely to rank behind Taylor Herro, Norman Powell and Davion Mitchell. It is hard to imagine that a famous veteran will be willing to be the fourth defender.

According to previous reports, the King intends to sign Westbrook as a substitute point guard.
