Newcastle star may "leave" Aston Villa in "left field" exchange agreement

Newcastle United's Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento.
Newcastle United star Harvey Barnes may leave Eddie Howe's side this summer for Premier League rival Aston Villa.
Newcastle United spent about £38 million to sign Barnes from Leicester City during the summer transfer window in 2023.
In the past two seasons, Barnes has been basically just a substitute for the Magpies, but in the sprint stage of this season, he has performed brilliantly for the team he is proud of.
The 27-year-old scored eight goals in six matches, strengthening Newcastle United's hopes of advancing to the Champions League, with their ability to beat their rivals and qualifying for the European Elite Club Championship.
Nevertheless, it is reported that the winger may leave this summer because Aston Villa is interested in him.
Craig Hope of the Daily Mail reported that Barnes' departure could be "shocking" as Aston Villa is considering a "exchange" deal with Barnes.
Hope explained: "This is the latest news from the left field (left wing), but there are several Premier League clubs interested in Harvey Barnes. I heard that these include Aston Villa."
"Maybe his performance at the team has changed something recently, but since January, I expected Barnes to leave this summer.
But will Villa's interest (and their own PSR situation) lead to some form of swap deals? This leads to... the rumor in the game is that Villa is going to sell at least one player.
"Newcastle likes Jacob Ramsey, but can they afford to spend a big budget on a midfielder?
"I'm not sure unless the deal is done in a way that all parties are satisfied. The deal deserves attention, especially when Barnes is interested."
Earlier this week, Football Insider reported that Ramsey was "unhappy" in Aston Villa because he was "about to leave."
Ramsey contributed four goals and seven assists in 44 appearances for Aston Villa, but he only started 18 in the Premier League.
Report says:
According to a source in Football Insider, Jacob Ramsey revealed to his close allies that he was "unhappy" in Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old local star is reportedly frustrated by the lack of playtime so far this season under Unai Emery.
"The possibility of a summer transfer is increasing, and Villa is about to conduct another massive restructuring in the upcoming transfer window."
