Pride, Celtic Jaylen Brown reveals areas he has nowhere to reach in the NBA

Basketball

Jaylen Brown believes he is superb in a special skill that can help the Celtics open up offensive space, just like in the third game against the Knicks.

In the first two games of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Boston Celtics were criticized for missing out on some breakthrough layups, and they often chose three-pointers. In Game 3, they once again relied heavily on long-distance attacks, but they were able to effectively pull space open, which was impossible in a continuous inward attack against the New York Knicks. Jaylen Brown's shooting form has not yet recovered, but he still sets the tone for the team.

Brown declined in the third game, breaking through the defense, creating more offensive opportunities for his teammates. The Celtics shot up to 50% from outside the three-point line and finally defeated the Knicks 115-93 away. Brown believes the defending champions can get the best of their strengths in this series, but everyone must do their job well.

His strengths include direct impact defense, and the 2024 Finals MVP believes that he is no less than anyone else in the NBA in this skill.

"I think no one in our team, or even in the league, can go deep into the inside like me, especially when I move freely and have good physical condition," Brown said in a post-match press conference. Previously, Brown made 7 of 18 shots on Saturday, scoring 19 points and contributing 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.

"My goal is to break into the inside, finish the end, let them defend, let them collapse, and then find my teammates, let them understand my offense, and then start the offense from there."

Celtics need their star players to keep offense

Jaylen Brown full of confidence, and if the Celtics want to defeat the Knicks, they may need this confidence. He rushes into the basket fearlessly and won't let the poorly-feeled shots back. The Boston Celtics will continue to shoot from outside the three-point line, but both Jason Tatum and Brown can add crucial changes to offensive strategy when choosing to break through the defense. Good things often happen when good athletes lead defensive players away from their target area.

Knicks won't let Brown or other Celtics pass easily, but it's often necessary to show aggressiveness in the playoffs. While many fans will laugh at the four-time All-Star player for boasting, he has enough talent and perseverance to deliver on his bold future remarks. Both teams should be desperate for a fourth game that could determine the series win or lose on Monday night.
