The new rookie rankings are updated! Knipel has shot to No. 1! Edgecombe has hit the rookie wall!

Basketball

The official announcement of the new rookie rankings, Knipel directly reached the first place with his recent outstanding performance. And Coward is as stable as an old dog. No matter how the first and third places change, he is still ranked second as in the previous two periods. Flagg also maintained his third position this time. Edgecombe has not been feeling well recently, and his data has dropped to fourth place.

1. Knipel – Charlotte Hornets. Averages per game: 16.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3 assists, last ranking: 4.

Knipper led the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals on multiple game nights. He had two double-doubles, scored 20+ points in four consecutive games (including 30 points against the Heat), and then almost had a triple-double against the Lakers (19 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists). There are more details as well, he is constantly learning and adapting on the court.

2. Coward Ward – Memphis Grizzlies. Averages per game: 14.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, last ranking: 2.

Coward was a rare bright spot in a Grizzlies season plagued by injuries and losses. He performed well on the offensive end, and his extraordinary wingspan made him very eye-catching on the defensive end, whether on the outside or at the basket.

3. Flagg – Dallas Mavericks. Averages per game: 15 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, last ranking: 3.

Facing the highest expectations and dissatisfaction in Dallas, he still had a huge impact on the team's game, especially against the Bucks on Monday, when he scored 26 points and 9 rebounds, and withstood Antetokounmpo at the critical moment to complete a strong finish. The league's "last two-minute report" also absolves him of any responsibility for key errors.

4. Edgecomb – Philadelphia 76ers. Averages per game: 15.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, last ranking: 1.

The rookie from Baylor is in a different environment than most of his peers: the 76ers are not rebuilding a team and have playoff goals. He must accept a role behind Maxi, Embiid and even George in the future. His shooting has been sluggish recently (17-for-61 in the past five games), but he's still getting consistent playing time and has a rabid fanbase. Pistons head coach Bickerstaff commented: "His speed and explosiveness remind me of a young Derrick Rose."

5. Ryan Kalkbrenner – Charlotte Hornets. Averages per game: 9.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, last ranking: 9.

Let’s look at his historic shooting percentage (82.4%, the highest in the league), and then look at his defense’s suppression of opponents’ shots. The 7-footer from Creighton averaged 2.3 blocks per game and had a block rate of 7.8%. Regarding the efficient offense, Kalkbrenner said: "This is due to the open opportunities created by my teammates. My role is not to make difficult shots. My teammates do a very good job in passing the ball in open spaces."

6. Fells - New Orleans Pelicans. Averages per game: 13.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3 assists, last ranking: 6.

Fels and Quinn brought hope to New Orleans fans, shining amid Zion's injury and coach Green's patience. Fiers had 15 steals, which was tied with Edgecombe and led other rookies. He has complete offensive skills.

7. Trey Johnson – Washington Wizards. Averages per game: 11.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, last ranking: 7.

Playing one-on-five is not ideal, but it can still look good. He scored 10+ points in eight games and made 21 three-pointers, tied with Edgcomb for second among rookies and second only to Knipel's 32.

8. Derek Quinn – New Orleans Pelicans. Averages per game: 9.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, last ranking: 10th.

9. Bailey – Utah Jazz. Averages per game: 7.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, last ranking: not listed.

The Jazz rookie's growth was slow, but as the season progressed, he performed well. He averaged 4.6 points in 17.4 minutes in the first seven games, and recently improved to 12.8 points in 24.3 minutes, including 20 points against the Pacers.

10. Will Richard – Golden State Warriors. Averages per game: 10 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, last ranking: not listed.
