Mayor of Manchester City: Hope Manchester United’s new stadium can host the 2035 Women’s World Cup final

According to the "Daily Mail" on November 12, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham hopes that the 2035 Women's World Cup final can be held at Manchester United's new stadium.

The Mayor of Manchester's ambitious goal

Andy Burnham is a member of Manchester United's new stadium working group, which is promoting the demolition of the Old Trafford Stadium and striving to build a new "Northern Wembley" with the support of government finance and private funds. The entire project is expected to cost about 2 billion pounds.

While the goal of completing the project in 2030 may be too optimistic, Burnham believes that when the UK hosts the 2035 Women's World Cup, Manchester United's new stadium can host the final of the event. Burnham said:

"If we really speed up the progress of this project, I think there is a good chance that we will host the 2035 Women's World Cup. Just imagine hosting the final of this event at the new Old Trafford Stadium. That is a very worthy goal, isn't it?"
