Who would want to make Messi sad? L’Equipe: Fan teacher uses Messi emoji to grade students

L'Equipe reported on November 12 that Camila Brambilla, a young teacher who loves football, quickly became popular on social media by cleverly integrating eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi into her scoring system.
She posted a short video showing her teaching math in a fun way, using pictures of Macy's various expressions instead of traditional fractions when grading students' homework. The 30-second video has received more than 300,000 views since it was posted on October 23, and has led to her being dubbed "the coolest teacher in the world" by many netizens and media.
The 27-year-old young female teacher said: "I didn't expect such a big response at all." She explained that this method can help students reduce their anxiety about grades, "Who would want to make Messi sad?"
She started teaching at a private middle school in the suburbs of Buenos Aires last year and often told her 38 students, "You are not defined by numbers."
So she came up with a simple but effective way to get the message across: attaching a funny Messi meme to each assignment as a way to downplay the stress of traditional grades.
Students respond enthusiastically, especially those 14 to 15 years old, who often say: "Oh no, I made Messi cry!" or "Ah, Messi is very happy today!" This makes everyone happy.
Messi's photos help students detach themselves from their results, reduce the disappointment they feel when they do poorly, and perhaps inspire them to do better next time. This phenomenon reflects Messi's huge influence in Argentina, especially after he led the national team to win the World Cup. Messi has become a national icon, just like Maradona before him. A tattoo artist said that he has lost count of how many people he has carved Messi's face on their skin. "This is football, this is Argentina."
