De Zerbi: After the conflict, Marseille decided not to let Rabiot go, and the players had no intention of backing down.

October 10th Marseille head coach De Zerbi was interviewed by the Italian media Corriere della Sera and talked about the conflicts within the team that led to Rabiot leaving Marseille.

He once admitted that he hugged Rabiot more times than he hugged his son in the past year.

"I spent the last few years of my playing career in Romania, away from my family, and then started coaching. I was not able to accompany my children during their childhood and adolescence. I worked hard to establish good connections with the players and staff. There is respect and emotion."

On the conflict between Rabiot and Jonathan Lowe

"I have never seen such a conflict. I am a person from the street. But this is good for us, because the club decided not to give up, and he has no intention of giving in."

Is Marseille special?

"Yes, just like Foggia ten years ago, the football here fits my style very well. I am not sure if I am the coach they want, but Marseille is an ideal place for me because the value given to football can make social conflicts forgotten in 90 minutes."

Talk about playing for Milan

"Milan Youth Training Like a school where Maldini, Baresi, Tassotti and all those great players taught me about the ethics of football, the value of training, the belief in training harder after victory and maintaining respect and discipline within the team, I feel like a son of Milanello, a true Milanese."

Coaching only for myself?

"I have proven many times that I do not coach for myself. I like excellent players and hope they can join my team. I believe that players have a greater impact on performance than coaches. I was a No. 10 player and I will never belittle the value of players."

Have you had any contact with Bayern before coaching Marseille?

"It seems rude to talk about this matter, but there is indeed some possibility. As for Milan, we have never had any contact in this regard."
