July 12th News Recently, former Juventus midfielder Matuidi was interviewed by Turin Sports News and talked about his Juventus career.

Matuidi, what is the first thing you think of when you think back on your years at Juventus?

"I remember the day I arrived at the headquarters: I immediately realized that I was in an extraordinary reality. A club that was extremely huge in history, reputation, and facilities. In short, a very, very powerful club. People who work there had extremely huge ambitions. I am not saying that this is not the case at Paris Saint-Germain, but that was my first time setting foot outside of France."

What I wanted you most was Allegri

"I still have a great relationship with the coach. I sent him the day before yesterday. He was not only a great tactician, but also a great person. When you coach a group of champions, it was no small matter. He won so much, and it was also his character. In those years, he was very good at managing the locker room."

How did he touch you and let you play at that level?

"He always spoke to me in a fatherly tone, as if I was his son. Thanks to him, I adapted immediately."

After ruled Serie A for many years, Sarri came. Although you struggled, you still won the league championship. Calm down, have you ever asked yourself where there was no collaborative film between you and the coach that year?

"Sarri must have a different way, he has very strict tactical requirements. Putting the difficulties aside, we won, so he is right. He is a great coach, and like everyone else, it takes time to best adapt to Juventus' environment."

In that season, you became Ronaldo's "bodyguard" and your duty is to cover the gaps left by his side. Tell us what it means to share a locker room with Ronaldo?

"C Ronaldo is an impressive professional player, obsessed with work. After one league match, we returned to Continentasa (training base) to pick up the car at 2 a.m., and we were exhausted, but he went to Benatia and convinced him to accompany him to the gym for some relaxation training. I thought he was crazy at the time (laughs). C Ronaldo is like this, he never stops. This is the secret to his success and the reason why he still plays a key role."

So what do you want to say to other teammates?

"I cherish the memories of those years in my heart. We have a great team and we have a great time together. The craziest person? I tied Solio, and he always smiled and made some jokes one after another. Every time I saw me, he would sing a French song for me. Then there was Buffon, one of the greatest goalkeepers in history. What I like most was his simplicity."

Speaking of Buffon, tell us the night when you scored 3-0 at the Bernabeu, just before Oliver decided to send Buffon off in the 98th minute. This may be the heaviest goal in your Juventus career.

"I won't say the most important thing, because in the end it didn't help the team advance. It was a special night, and we had to remind the world of what Juventus is like, I think we did it, played a wonderful game. Then there was that penalty from Vazquez, and if it were based on today's VAR rules, the ending might not be like this."

Then, you think that penalty should not be judged.

"I don't think it should be sentenced (laughs). The atmosphere in the locker room was very tense at the end of the game. We scored three goals at the Bernabeu, putting them in trouble. At that time, this was not something that anyone could do. Allegri told us that he was proud of what we did and that we should continue to stick with it in the league."
