TA Exclusive: Villa is close to buzzer-beating and signing Elliott, expected to be loaned + forced buyout

Negotiations between the two clubs revolve around the structure of a deal that aims to ensure Villa complies with UEFA's financial restrictions.

So far, Villa's summer transfer window has been quiet, with forward Evan Geisand and goalkeeper Marco Bizot being the only two new players in Unai Emery's first team, while midfielders Jacob Ramsey, Leander Dendongker and Enzo Barrenecea will also be traded.

Any transfer will be held after Liverpool reached an agreement with Newcastle United, which will cost the Merseyside club £125 million.

Earlier this month, German club RB Leipzig contacted Liverpool about the potential transfer of 22-year-old Elliott. The Premier League club valued Elliott at over £40 million (with repo option), or over £50 million (without repo option).
