On October 4, the son of former NBA veteran Trevor Ariza chose the Ducks instead of his hometown team USC USC. The 2026 TOP25 small forward Tajh Ariza has promised to join the University of Oregon.

Ariza's recruitment momentum has fluctuated back and forth between the University of Oregon and USC in the past few weeks, especially after he canceled a scheduled visit to the University of Kansas and subsequently removed the University of Kentucky from his school selection list.

Ariza is one of the best small forwards in the 2026 class, ranking 24th on the ESPN high school list. The Ducks have received the first top 25 player since the 2023 Kwame Evans Jr and Mookie Cook. He is 6-9 (2.06 meters), and is studying in St. John Bosco, California in his senior year, and missed this summer's Nike EYBL due to injury.

‍Ariza's grandmother is Japanese. She represented Japan at the Nike Basketball Summit in April this year. He told Asian media AMAZN that she wants to represent Japan in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and is expected to become the third Japanese-American to play in the NBA.
