Chalobah: I followed my brother as a Chelsea fan and officially became a member of the Blues at the age of 8

Hupu News November 16: In an official interview with Chelsea, Trevoh Chalobah shared his growth process since he joined Chelsea’s youth training as a child. Chalobah has spent most of his life at Chelsea, working his way up through the ranks and experiencing a number of successful loan spells before finally making his unforgettable first-team debut four years ago and cementing his place.

What was your first pair of sneakers?

"Nike T90."

What was the first jersey you owned?

"Ah, I can't remember this clearly. The first one I can remember is the Brazil team jersey, Ronaldo's one."

What was the first team you joined?

"Cannons FC, an amateur league team."

Who is the first coach you remember?

"There was a coach at Chelsea called Frank O'Brien. I'll always remember him because he was very strict with me, but really nice to me, and that's what I needed."

Who was your first friend in football?

"Mount. I still keep in touch with him, and he didn't leave the team for long."

Who was your first roommate?

"Let me see... it would be Ugbo. He is a striker and now plays with my brother at Sheffield Wednesday. He went abroad for a while and then came back."

Your first game and first goal?

"Technically my first game and goal was on loan at Ipswich Town, but let's stick with Chelsea. The first game was winning the UEFA Super Cup in 2021, and the first goal was three days later on my home debut at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace. I'll never forget that goal, it was fantastic."

When was the first time you were recognized in public?

"Just after my Premier League debut against Crystal Palace. I went to a restaurant in Fulham and was recognized by many people as soon as I entered. Once the first person noticed me, it was out of control."

What was your first feeling when you signed the Chelsea contract?

"I was only eight years old at the time, but I remember just being happy. My brother Nathaniel Chalobah was at Chelsea at the time, so I was happy to be here and became a Chelsea fan. When he came to Chelsea, I started supporting Chelsea."
