Adeyemi/Schlotterbeck demand release bonus; Dortmund refuses to compromise + may leave for free

Hupu, November 03: German media Bild Dortmund and the team’s reporter team wrote a column on Dortmund’s contract renewal, which is also the focus of Dortmund this season.
In fact, the contract extension negotiations between Nico Schlotterbeck (25 years old) and Karim Adeyemi (23 years old) have escalated into an internal political game.
The trigger is: Adeyemi hopes that a termination clause must be included in the renewal contract.
This has led to Schloterbeck’s team also considering including similar clauses in the upcoming negotiations. Both stars' current contracts expire in 2027.
Difficulties faced by the club’s senior management: For many years, the club has clearly stipulated in its basic principles that player contracts must not contain any additional terms. Now, there is debate within the club as to whether this taboo should be broken.
Dortmund are determined to avoid two potential threats. First of all: avoid the lack of identification between the star and the club!
Second: Prevent players from being blackmailed by agents! Any exceptions for top stars such as Adeyemi or Schlotterbeck should not lead to agents of less valuable players suddenly demanding similar clauses be included in their contracts.
One thing is clear: Ricken and Kyle will fight to the end in negotiations, even going so far as to confront Adeyemi's star agent, Jorge Mendez.
The club is even considering a contingency plan to keep a player until his contract expires in 2027 - provided that the resulting sports revenue can exceed the loss of transfer fees. However, a more ideal solution would be to avoid letting star players leave on free transfers.
In fact, the players know what they have in Dortmund. Adeyemi, in particular, has been able to make such significant progress largely thanks to the "pushing" of coach Niko Kovac, as he puts it.
As the captain and the soul of the club, Schlotterbeck has a bright future.
So, what is the termination fee clause?
Schlotterbeck is worth 40 million euros, and Adeyemi is even worth 60 million euros. If a termination clause is really added, it will be much higher than the market price.
