F1 officially announced: The contract with the Monaco Grand Prix is extended to 2035
Hupu September 5th F1 officially announced that based on the existing agreement with the Automobile Club Monaco to the 2031 season, the Monaco Grand Prix will be extended to 2035.
As one of the most historical events in F1, the Monaco Grand Prix has been included in the calendar since the first year of the 1950 F1 World Championships, and has witnessed countless classic moments over the years.
The narrow and winding streets of Monte Carlo puts high requirements for drivers' skills and concentration, and its unique charm and stadium environment make it one of the most famous sports events in the world.
In 2024, local hero Leclerc made history and became the first Monaco driver in F1 history to win the Monaco Grand Prix championship. This year, Lando Norris won his first championship in Monaco.
Among the active F1 drivers, Alonso, Hamilton and Verstappen have won the Monaco Street Championships many times. They have written brilliantly on this 3.3-kilometer track, along with legendary drivers such as Elton Senna, Alan Prost, Michael Schumacher, Nicky Lauda, Sir Stewart and Graham Hill.
F1 Chairman and CEO Domenicari said: "Since the birth of the F1 sport, the streets of Monaco have echoed with the roar of F1. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that this exciting event will be extended to 2035."
"This is an iconic event that is loved by all drivers and fans, and its unique atmosphere is due to its location in the most charming principality in the world."
"I would like to express my special thanks to His Royal Serene Highness, Prince Albert I IofMonaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Monaco Auto Club, and everyone who has worked hard to ensure the long-term success of this historic cooperation. "
His Highness Albert II, Prince of Monaco, commented: "Extending the Monaco Grand Prix to 2035 is in line with the Principal's deep feelings for this sport and historical tradition."
"I warmly welcome this renewal, which is a testament to our shared success, the outstanding achievements in cooperation with F1, and Monaco's unique position in the international racing world."
