What is more surprising than a hat trick is that Kane actually played this position at Bayern

Bayern Munich swept RB Leipzig 6-0 in the opening game of the 2025/26 Bundesliga, while Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick, showed fans an unprecedented new look.

I thought it would be a close match, but I didn't expect that at Allianz Stadium, Bayern completely crushed Leipzig with its nearly perfect performance. The impeccable hat trick of the top scorer Kane made the fans in the audience even more excited.

This is Kane's third hat-trick in the Bundesliga since joining Bayern, one step closer to legendary records such as Ged Muller (7 times) and Klaus Fischer (5 times). With his current state, it seems only a matter of time to tie or even break these milestones.

What is really amazing, however, is not Kane's continuous goal-scoring ability, but his increasingly evolving way of playing. Kane, 32, has become a model for modern centers: he frequently retreats to organize offenses, connects the entire team, activates teammates, and shows the deadly instinct of top shooters with hat tricks at critical moments.

Throughout the game, Kane's position was significantly deeper than other forward players. The team's most advanced areas are mainly occupied by Olisse and Louis Dias, followed by Lemmer, Gnabrey and Stanisic. Kane and Goretzka often appear behind them. This may sound unreasonable.

The England captain even moved like a "No. 6" midfielder. For a center, such a position is really rare, perhaps this is the deepest position in his career. Although it looks a bit weird at first glance, as the game deepens, the intention of this tactical arrangement gradually becomes clear.

Kane frequently participates in midfield battles, as if proving that he can not only play forward, but also be competent for midfield, and even... a defender. If he is given a pair of gloves, he might be able to "snatch" Neuer's goalkeeper position.

He kept dividing the ball to both wings, patiently organizing the dispatch in "invisible" state until the 64th minute, he broke the deadlock with a decisive shot with his right foot. Ten minutes later, he got rid of defense, received Dias' pass and shot a world wave outside the penalty area, and the ball went straight to the dead corner of the goal - according to statistics, the expected goal value (xG) of this shot was only 3%. Finally, he calmly pushed the ball with his left foot in the 77th minute, completing a hat-trick.

Kane once again proves that he is one of the best centers in Bayern history: calm, efficient, able to score from any position, and most importantly, he has the innate shooter instinct. His tacit understanding with Dias is growing. If this momentum continues, the pair will not only help Bayern win the Bundesliga championship, but also hope to bring the Champions League trophy back to Munich. After the game, Kane said: "This is undoubtedly a very outstanding game. We hope to build an advantage from the first game of the season, especially starting the Bundesliga journey at home. I think we did it. The team has shown extremely high standards from the back defense to the frontcourt, and we have a strong ability to seize opportunities in front of the goal. The score of 6-0 is impeccable. Now we have to focus on the next game. When we led 3-0 in the first half, I told myself that I had to score goals in the second half, so it felt great to be able to score two more goals in the second half."

With just one Kane, Bayern seemed to have a treasure house of weapons!
