Post: More than 500,000 tickets for women s European Cup this summer are sold, close to the 2022 European Cup
June 26 According to the British media Daily Mail, the upcoming European Cup ticket sales of Women's Football Cup in Switzerland were close to the level of the 2022 European Cup before the start of the game. Industry data shows that ticketing data "reflects a mature trend similar to the European Cup for the men's football team."
The Women's Football European Cup has sold more than 500,000 tickets, while the event that England's women's football team achieved a brilliant record in the local area three years ago sold a total of 575,000 tickets.
The first match between the English women's football team next Saturday against the French women's football team will be held at the 30,000-person Lezglund Stadium. In contrast, their first group match of the 2022 European Cup was held at Old Trafford Stadium, with 68,871 spectators present. Matt Drew, head of business development at Viagogo, the ticketing market, revealed that only 15% of ticket sales are currently targeting the finals held at the Basel St. Jacobs Park Stadium. This reflects that the distribution of ticket purchases is more balanced than the 2022 event, when the finals concentrated a large number of votes.
Drew said: "In England in 2022, 87,000 people watched the final. So this has had a significant impact on the total votes. This year they will surpass this number in smaller venues. This shows that the audience is more widespread."
"We see people having great interest in the opening day, the opening game and another match of the day, and of course other important group matches throughout the event. This is a sign of the fairly mature European Cup in the Women's Football League. Ticketing data is reflecting the same trend as the Men's Football League or mature events."
"This marks a huge progress in the field and also shows that the growth of women's football is being driven by fans who go to watch the game on site."
