Hupu reported on November 20 that this summer, Sane refused to renew his contract with Bayern Munich and chose to join Galatasaray on a free transfer. Now, agent George Gardi, who was deeply involved in this operation, disclosed the details behind this blockbuster transfer for the first time in an interview with Sky Sports Germany.

Gardi revealed that the idea of this transfer actually came up many months before the transfer window opened. The influential agent in Turkish and Italian football circles said: "I know very well that Sane is the key figure to take the team to a new level."

Talking about the specific negotiation process, he admitted that communication with Sane's team was very difficult. The 29-year-old German international received invitations from many top clubs in England and Germany, and even a huge offer from Saudi Arabia. Rumors between Sane and Jeddah United had appeared in the media before, and Premier League sides including Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal had all been mentioned.

In order to convince Sane to join Galatasaray, Gardi put in a lot of effort: "I repeatedly told him that he would become a key leader at Galatasaray. He perfectly fits the team system and can get great emotional satisfaction here, and even have the opportunity to achieve some unprecedented achievements in the European arena."

At the same time, he also persuaded the top management of the Turkish Super League to advance negotiations as soon as possible: "If we wait too long, the competition will only become more intense, and it will be almost impossible to sign him. So I insist on completing the deal before the Club World Cup."

In the end, the two sides reached an agreement in advance, and Galatasaray officially announced Sane's joining on June 12. This is extremely rare in the Turkish transfer market, as players of this level usually wait until late in the winter or summer window to be finalized. Gardi commented: "Completing a signing of this level so early sends a very strong signal to the entire market."

Sane signed with Galatasaray until 2028. According to the club's disclosure, he will receive a net annual salary of 9 million euros, plus a bonus of 3 million euros, and a signing fee. He contributed 3 goals and 3 assists in the first 15 games of the new club, and his transfer price was reduced from 32 million euros to 25 million euros in October.

Regarding the German international's initial period in Turkey, Gardi commented: "He does need some time to adapt to the team, the league and life. But now, he has become one of the core of the team, especially in the Champions League. I believe we have not seen his full potential."
