August 3: Following the BBC report, the Manchester Evening News also confirmed that Manchester United is preparing to sell Hoylen for a asking price of 30 million pounds, which will allow them to record a loss on the PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules).
Manchester United introduced Hoylen from Atlanta for £64 million two years ago, and the transfer fee was amortized into the player's five-year contract. Hoylen has played for two seasons now, which means his surplus value is 38.4 million pounds based on PSR rules.
However, Manchester United realized that no team would accept a £38.4 million valuation and was prepared to lower the asking price to £30 million, seeking to sell Hoylen.
Manchester United is working to sign a new striker and they continue to discuss the possibility of signing Cesco, after they have considered Drapp, Yorke and Watkins among others.
