Unfortunately! The 16-year-old Colombian star drowned and was originally going to join the Argentinian giants.

Hupu reported on November 12 that a Colombian football star drowned and his father died during rescue operations.
Relevant reports stated that Joel David Lopez Solano, a 16-year-old rising football star who was about to realize his dream of playing in Argentina, drowned in a reservoir in Cordoba Province. His father also died while trying to rescue his son from the water.
Joel from Sincelejo currently plays for the Envigado club echelon and has been favored by the well-known Argentinian club Atletico San Lorenzo. At the time, I was applying for a passport in Sincelejo and was originally scheduled to leave for Buenos Aires in December 2025.
The tragedy occurred in a rural area of Tucín City, Córdoba Province. The location where the incident occurred was called "Penol Petaca", a reservoir frequently visited by local residents. At the time, the young athlete was traveling with his father and 7-year-old brother as the family headed to the village of Castilleral where they lived. When passing by the reservoir, the father and son decided to stop to rest and play in the water to cool down.
It is reported that Joel did not understand the depth and current conditions of the water and sank into the water in an instant. Out of a fatherly instinct to save his son, Joel's father immediately jumped into the water. Unfortunately, the father was also involved in the current of the tributary and eventually died during the rescue process.
His 7-year-old brother Luis Angel was the only survivor. He promptly sought help from other water players and nearby residents. Although everyone tried to rescue the father and son, they failed. The bodies of Joel and his father sank to the bottom of the water and were found hours later.
