British media: Tottenham Hotspur s core knee injury is not optimistic, may bid farewell to the season in advance

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Madison is expected to miss the remaining three weeks of the season due to a knee injury. In the first leg of the Europa League semi-final last Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur shined with a 3-1 victory over Norwegian team Bode, and Madison was unfortunately injured despite scoring a goal. After Madison, 28, was injured, head coach Ang Postkoglu was optimistic about this. However, Friday morning’s situation showed the injury was worse than expected, and further scans confirmed this. According to sources, Madison is currently undergoing assessments for knee ligament injuries, and the specific situation will be announced within the next 48 hours.

This is undoubtedly a heavy blow for Tottenham Hotspur. The team is currently in a good position to advance to the UEFA Cup final, with the second leg scheduled to be held in Norway on May 9. But it is almost certain that Madison will not be able to compete in the second leg of the semifinals and the possible final in Bilbao, Spain later this month.

After a 1-1 draw with West Ham on Sunday, Postkoglu said: "We may get more clear information [on Monday]. It can be said that the situation is not optimistic, but we still need to wait for the final result."
