Chelsea is rumored to be buying Garnacho, which is far from Manchester United s psychological price
Manchester United and Chelsea are still unable to reach an agreement on the transfer fee of Argentine midfielder Garnacho.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea plans to sign Garnacho for £30 million, but Manchester United insists on asking for £50 million before agreeing to release the person. Previously, Leverkusen also offered about £30 million in January this year, but was quickly rejected by Manchester United.
It is reported that Garnacho himself is full of expectations for joining Chelsea and has requested Manchester United, hoping that the club can approve his transfer to the "Blue Army". Chelsea had long talks with Manchester United, when Manchester United priced Garnacho up to £70 million. Now, in order to help the Argentine midfielder find a new owner as soon as possible, Manchester United has agreed to lower the asking price.
On August 12, it was reported that Garnacho had issued an "ultimatum" to Manchester United, hinting that the club should accept Chelsea's offer this summer. Otherwise, he will choose to stay in the team and sit on the bench in the new season, and receive full salary.
The Argentine winger was included in the "five-man departure list" by head coach Ruben Amorin early this summer, and was excluded from the team's plan along with Sancho, Anthony, Rashford and Maracia. The background of this decision is that Garnacho showed obvious dissatisfaction in the Europa League final because he was placed on the bench.
Since the first team made its debut, Garnacho has made 144 appearances for Manchester United, contributing 26 goals and 22 assists, and helped the team win the League Cup in the 2022/23 season and the FA Cup in the 2023/24 season.
