Milan Director: It would be a lie if you said you don’t want to win the championship, Milan is on the right path

Hupu November 19th: Milan Director Tare attended the Social Football Summit event as a guest today and accepted interviews from many Italian media.
You served as a player and director at Lazio...
"I entered Lazio just to sign a player contract, and when I left, I got a director's contract. Just like President Lotito said, everything is possible. I think he is more far-sighted. During my three years as a player, he has seen a lot of things that I was not ready for at the time."
What are the responsibilities of the sports director?
"As a player I was curious about how the club worked and I always wanted to know more about it. I was captain of the Albanian national team at the time and this kind of quick decision would help. So I made the decision and went to my former teammates and appeared in front of them as sporting director - that was the most difficult speech I had ever made to my teammates."
Many people think you come from the Sabatini heritage?
"He is an amazing person with an excellent mind. I learned a lot from him and his presence was very helpful. As a player, I left my homeland at 16 and then played in Greece for a year and a half and in Germany for nine years. These were important experiences."
Does the key to building a team come from on-field performance or from daily construction?
"Both. Building a winning team requires a close daily relationship with the team, and I attend almost all training sessions to understand the nuances of the team and feel everyone's emotions. If you have to choose, you have to understand all the issues that come with this job, especially when you are managing some top players who need to find their space."
What are your goals with Milan?
"I would be lying if I said I didn't want to win Serie A or the Champions League. The shortest path to win I think is that in many details we have a very radical project: we brought in 19 players while letting 23 leave. We are on the right path and I am eager to win important trophies with this glorious club and we have to stay humble. Zlatan Ibrahimovic? You always have a lot of fun with him."
About the scouting role?
"I'm not a big fan of data and artificial intelligence. To me, they are tools that help you have a broader perspective, but the sensitivity to understand player characteristics and personalities is something they don't give you. To use these tools correctly, and in the long run, requires a lot more: experience is key, and a deep understanding of human values."
How important is intuition?
"This is in line with the philosophy of creating projects such as Milan, where we decided to bring in a 'veteran' like Modric, but in reality he was the 'youngest' one on the pitch."
About rebuilding the spirit of the Lazio period at Milanello?
"Especially the spirit formed in Simone Inzaghi's team. At that time, we were like a family, everyone had a strong sense of belonging, and the results were verified through this kind of management. I also really like to bring this spirit to Milan. I am very happy this year because there is a strong resonance between all the staff at Milanello and between the staff and the players."
What is a season without European games?
"We have changed a lot. We have the opportunity to polish the details in a week, which is impossible when playing in the European war. We have the opportunity to lay the foundation for the near future."
The most talented player?
"Ravel Morrison, a player I had at Lazio. I was inspired by an interview with Ferguson, and then I analyzed him and brought him to Lazio to see if I could light up his light, but it was impossible, I had never seen such a talent."
The player with the strongest personality?
"Modric has an atypical personality, and seeing him celebrating like a 10-year-old in the locker room after a victory is the most beautiful thing in the world."
About the derby?
"I know the Rome derby well, but I am curious and want to experience the Milan derby. Besides, I used to be a Milan fan, so this is very special for me. These games are not played, but won. It is important, but not decisive. It means a lot to the city and brings credibility to the project. I grew up in Van Basten's Milan, I have always said that I am a Milan fan, and it is wonderful for me to realize this dream."
Rankings and goals for this season?
"To be honest, the table is very tight and changes every week. Balance is the key and we have to think about getting back into the Champions League. This is a crucial moment of the season and we regret the draw at Parma. For us, winning is important and we cannot drop points. In March I will understand whether we are capable of competing for the title, it is not a matter of course, but I know we can compete."
How often do you contact Allegri?
"A lot of times, we have a good relationship and Max brings positive emotions to the team."
What kind of signings will you make?
"We are not thinking about it yet. I don't know, but we will keep a close eye on every opportunity. I don't think this will be an important transfer window, but if necessary, we will be ready."
