Simmons intends to transfer, Leipzig watches the negotiations below the market price

Football

According to media reports, Barcelona-born midfielder Xavi Simmons is eager to bid farewell to Red Bull Leipzig in the upcoming transfer window and seek new challenges. The Athletic, the authoritative British sports website, revealed that the offensive midfielder, who is only 22 years old, has clearly expressed his willingness to transfer to the club. Since Red Bull Leipzig missed the international arena in the new season, although the team said that there is no new update on Simmons' personal situation at the moment, at the end of the season, both sides had conducted in-depth discussions on the medium- and long-term plans. Simmons' current market valuation is about 70 million euros, demonstrating its extraordinary value in football.

Last summer, Simmons was loaned to Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain and was then officially acquired in January with a transfer fee of up to 50 million euros. Although Leipzig is open to Simmons' departure, they insist on receiving a transfer fee that matches its market value, i.e. no less than €70 million, given that Simmons' contract with the team will not expire until June 2027.

If this transaction is traded at the expected price, Simmons will set the second highest transfer record in Leipzig's history. Although he became the second scorer in the team with 21 goals and 23 assists in 76 games, and his personal market value once soared to 80 million euros, Leipzig regretfully missed the qualification to participate in the international competition. In addition to Simmons, striker Benjamin Sisco is also likely to wave goodbye, and the two are expected to become the most expensive leaving stars in Leipzig's history. Sisco is also a coveted target for Arsenal, and its value is also evaluated to be 70 million euros. As of now, Red Bull Leipzig has been relatively low-key in the transfer market, only confirming the joining of Echekil Banzuz, while Electrolux Moriba has transferred to his team permanently. Leipzig is still actively looking for the new coach.
